do you know what I'm doing?

So I finally get a package from Best Buy which is supposed to be a replacement USB cable for my iPod...and it's a firewire cable. *insert sound of Lori screeching like a Nazgul* Apparently I was unclear in telling them that I have a PC and not a Mac. But wait, my story gets better. So I call to tell them they are imbeciles and the guy that I talk to says that the Best Buy parts store does not have USB cables, only the firewire cables. His advice? I should go back to the Best Buy store and throttle the Geek Squad until they give me a new USB cable. So two weeks after I went to a Best Buy store to get a replacement USB cable, I'm going back to Best Buy to get a replacement USB cable. Get the Nine on the phone, I've got a job for them. Bet the Geek Squad would be infinitely more helpful when I have nine Nazgul as my entourage.

Thank goodness for Netflix. I watched Bent last night. I don't know what I was expecting, but not that. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing; I really enjoyed it (as much as one can enjoy a movie about the Holocaust). It was a cross between Velvet Goldmine and Schindler's List. Complete with a cross-dressing, singing Mick Jagger. And a slew of other guest appearances -- Ian McKellen in a snappy suit (who originated the role of Max -- Clive Owen's character -- on stage), Jude Law with an eyepatch, Rupert Graves as a Nazi (Martyn! No!), and apparently Paul Bettany although I missed him. Best part: Clive Owen and Lothaire Bluteau have sex while standing at attention in a concentration camp and without touching. It's all, as one critic said, verbal imagination. And it's not just that it's terribly erotic, it's a powerful scene of defiance and love amid atrocity. Excellent movie, but obviously rated NC-17 for good reason. I'll probably cap it over the weekend since it doesn't look like there are any caps at [info]cap_it.

My daughter and I are going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tonight! I've talked with some other moms and [info]lostin_one_ring and I think she'll be okay. She's seen Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and she is absolutely desperate to see this one (and so am I). So we're going to give it a whirl.

OMG, wikipedia has entries for people? Clive Owen's entry has the amusing line: They married in 1995, producing two daughters, Hannah and Eve. Producing? "Here are the children we have produced." Like the god of creation "*fwoosh* What do you think? You like this? No? Okay, I'll stick it in the garage." And Clive and his wife must have a thing for palindromes. :-)

yay! I loved the movie. i dunno why people are so dissapointed. I don't they kept a very open mind, and they were all looking for it to be just like the original movie. I thought it was very book-like, but very few people have read the book.
